Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Leyline Card Lab ("Leyline," "we," "us," or "our") — including our website, proxy builder, cart, checkout flow, and any products we fulfill — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the site or place orders.

These terms apply together with our Privacy Policy, Proxies & Printing Policy, and Shipping information. Where something is specific to proxy printing, the Printing Policy also applies.

2. What we sell — playtest cards, not Wizards product

Leyline provides unofficial playtest proxy cards and related accessories. Our proxies are printed substitutes intended to represent Magic: The Gathering cards for personal playtesting, casual play, and similar non-commercial table use where permitted.

Leyline proxies are not:

  • Authentic Magic: The Gathering cards from Wizards of the Coast
  • Licensed or endorsed Wizards product
  • Guaranteed to be accepted at any tournament, store, or event
  • Intended for resale, fraud, or misrepresentation as genuine cards
  • A substitute for purchasing official cards where rules or law require them

Magic: The Gathering, card names, symbols, and related intellectual property are © Wizards of the Coast and other rights holders. Leyline Card Lab is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast.

3. Your responsibilities & acceptable use

You are solely responsible for how you use Leyline products. By ordering, you represent that you:

  • Understand our cards are playtest proxies, not official tournament product
  • Will confirm proxy rules with your local game store, event organizer, or playgroup before bringing proxies to any event
  • Will not use our products at DCI-sanctioned or other events that require authentic cards, unless the event explicitly allows otherwise
  • Will not sell, trade, or present Leyline proxies as authentic Wizards cards or as counterfeit goods
  • Will comply with applicable laws, store policies, and event rules in your jurisdiction

Many local game stores and non-sanctioned casual events (Commander nights, cube drafts, playtest leagues) allow proxies when the organizer permits — but that decision belongs to the organizer, not Leyline. We do not guarantee that any venue, judge, or player will accept our products.

4. No legal advice; event rules vary

Information on our site about proxies, Wizards policy, or community practice is provided for general education only and is not legal advice. Laws and event policies change and differ by location. You must make your own judgment about whether proxies are appropriate for a given setting.

Leyline is not responsible if you are refused entry to an event, disqualified, asked to leave a store, or face consequences for using proxies where they are not allowed.

5. Orders, pricing & checkout

Leyline helps you build orders; payment, tax, and shipping are processed through Shopify on our storefront. Prices, tiers, foil upcharges, and totals shown in the builder and cart are estimates until confirmed at Shopify checkout.

Custom print work may require processing time before shipment. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit orders that appear fraudulent, abusive, illegal, or inconsistent with these terms (including suspected counterfeit intent or prohibited content).

6. Refunds, cancellations & defects

Because proxy orders are made to print, cancellation may not be possible once production has started. Refund and replacement handling is evaluated case by case through our Shopify support channels. Minor color, cut, or batch variation may occur and does not automatically qualify for a refund unless it materially prevents use as a playtest card.

Contact us through your order confirmation or account support channel with photos and your order number for print issues.

7. Accounts & data

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Saved decks, carts, and order snapshots are provided as a convenience; we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or permanent retention. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.

8. Intellectual property

Leyline's branding, site design, and original content are ours or our licensors'. You may not scrape, copy, or misrepresent our service. Third-party card data and images may be subject to separate terms from providers such as Scryfall or Wizards. You may not use our service to produce content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT PROXIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT ANY EVENT OR VENUE.

We do not warrant that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components, or that printed cards will match every expectation of color, texture, or similarity to factory Magic cards.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEYLINE CARD LAB AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, SUPPLIERS, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, EVENT DISQUALIFICATION, DENIED STORE ENTRY, REPUTATIONAL HARM, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR PRODUCTS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO AN ORDER OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THAT ORDER IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Leyline Card Lab and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of our products or site, your violation of these terms, your violation of event or store rules, misrepresentation of proxies as authentic cards, or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Third-party services

We rely on third parties including Shopify (payments and fulfillment), Supabase (accounts and data), Scryfall and other APIs (card information), and shipping carriers. We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or actions of those third parties beyond what we reasonably control.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Leyline Card Lab operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute you cannot resolve with us directly should be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
